Just a little bit about my life

For those who dont know us, my hubby & I now live on a canal narrowboat.

Just like the kiddies tv show "Rosie & Jim"

English narrowboats are really long (ours is 57ft) but they are only 6ft 10ins wide so they can fit through the victorian bridges and into the old locks gates, so life is abit cramped, rather like living in a pencil box, or a hampster tube. The benifits though are wonderful, travelling freely around Englands green & pleasent land, beautiful scenery, heaps of kingfishers and water voles and ofcourse all the squirrels we can eat (only kidding)

One of the only downsides to our idyllic lifestyle as water gypsies is the truely TERRIBLE mobile internet connections, just like a mobile photo, useless if youre stranded in the middle of nowhere, The Uk has the slowest broadband in the world...I spend most days boating around canalside pubs trying to pick up WIFI, and then it always costs me a fortune in Guinness to keep hubby happy...lifes so tough

Anyway..to get to the knitty point..We have been so busy doing up our old houseboat (scrapping bottoms etc) that sadly I still havent had time to launch any new patterns, hopefully when winter sets in and i'm glued to the logburner with my wet socks smoldering, then the ol knitting needles can get super busy again.

The two boats above are NOT mine but are just to show you overseas visitors the type of boat i live in (mine is still in the process of painting, all boring undercoat)

Pictures below are my own boat before we moved in

She's still a work in progress, but i'm going to decorate my kitchen soon and give it a cath kidston style makeover, i'll post more pics soon.
